I struggled with my weight and emotional eating most of my life. I could stick to a diet for a few months, but eventually I would hit a bad day and feel like 'why bother?'. Food brought me joy and comfort and on those bad days, this seemed more important. The next day I would wake up feeling ashamed and broken. And then, I would start the cycle over.  

 

My solution came through a low-carb diet, which saved my mind and energy from constantly thinking about food. But more importantly, I learned to love myself and allow emotions. Those out-of-control urges are actually your subconscious trying to keep you safe. By connecting with your body and easing the fear, the cravings calm down. Then, what you eat doesn't matter!
